Light control mean everything.  The Celestron 44104 can deliver up to 500x magnification. Once you reach levels of over 400x magnification you must be able to control the light source that is illuminating the specimen. If you can’t control the light source, you will not be able to see things clearly.

The Celestron 44104 500x Power Advanced Microscope allows you to tweak the light source until it is perfect. It includes an Abbe Condenser. This device mounts below the microscope. It controls the light that goes through the specimen. It allows you to move the light closer or further from the object being magnified.

The Celestron 44104 also has an Iris diaphragm. This allows you to focus the beam of light by adjusting the light diameter entering the specimen. This double combination of light is what gives you complete control over the light source, which makes viewing objects over 400x magnification easier and clearer.
